Family day at the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology: A day full of discoveries

The Vienna Museum of Science and Technology has a new permanent exhibition entitled “Material Worlds”, of which we the main sponsor. We are therefore taking the opportunity to take our employees and their families on a journey through the world of materials and offer them an exciting day at the Museum of Science and Technology on May 10.

Around 95 employees and their families took part in the “voestalpine Family Day” and explored the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology and the new permanent exhibition with its own themed island on the subject of steel. The more than 300 participants traveled from Donawitz, Kapfenberg, Krems and Linz, among other places, to Vienna where a varied program awaited them. Guided tours through the “Material Worlds” as well as three impressive high-voltage demonstrations were a source of amazement and enthusiasm for young and old alike.

With almost 500,000 visitors a year, around 45% of whom are under the age of 19, the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology is one of the most important platforms for communicating and inspiring enthusiasm for technology. And so even our youngest visitors enjoyed the day: In the children’s areas, they eagerly tried things out, researched and of course – as is only right – pressed every button. The cozy voestalpine area was available for a little breather in between, where everyone could fortify themselves with packed lunches and exchange ideas in a relaxed atmosphere.

A successful day, which not only imparted knowledge, but also strengthened the team spirit and cooperation in our voestalpine family.
